Stored product temperature monitoring
Temperature cables and probes for grain, hay, cottonseed, modules, bagasse and compost, to catch heating early.
Request a site assessmentStored grain, hay, cottonseed and other organic material can heat from insects, moisture or microbial activity. Heating that is found early can be managed by aeration, turning or moving product. Heating that is found late can mean downgraded product or a fire.
We install temperature cables and probes through the stored product, log readings automatically and alert when a temperature, or its rate of rise, crosses the limits set for that product.
What we monitor
- Multi-point temperature cables in silos and sheds
- Probes in stacks, modules and stockpiles
- Aeration fan status
- Compost windrow temperatures
Cotton, grain and cane
- Grain silo temperature monitoring: hear about a hot pocket in daysRoof-hung temperature cables, LoRaWAN radio and SMS alerts that show a heating pocket in a flat-bottom or cone silo days before a probe would find it.
- Hay shed temperature probes: know the stack is heating before it burnsCore temperature probes in freshly baled lots, with SMS alerts, for cropping properties holding hay beside silos and machinery sheds.
Feedlots
- Grain bin temperature monitoring: catch a hot silo before the millMulti-point temperature cables in feedlot grain silos, read by LoRaWAN, with SMS alerts to the feed-mill manager and nutritionist before heated grain is milled.
- Feedlot hay temperature monitoring: hear about a hot stack earlyProbes in three hay stacks, a gateway on the mill roof and SMS alerts to the feed manager and duty operator, added to a store laid out to MLA guidance.
